Crystal Beach is one of the more predictable neighbourhoods we work in,
and that’s genuinely useful. Minto built most of it in the 1960s from
five original home models, so the layouts repeat street to street. Our
cleaners often know where the linen closet is before they walk in, and
our quotes tend to land closer to the final invoice here than almost
anywhere else in the city.
Sixty years on, those homes have gone in different directions. Some are
close to original, with older bathrooms and kitchens that need patience
rather than pressure. Others have been renovated once or twice, so
you’ll find a 2015 ensuite down the hall from a 1965 main bath in the
same house. That mix is what makes a deep clean here take longer than
the square footage suggests.
The townhomes that went up around Carling in the mid seventies and the
newer builds at Maki Park are different again, and we price them
accordingly rather than lumping everything together.
Being this close to the river and Andrew Haydon Park shows up too,
mostly as tracked-in sand through the spring and dust off Carling in
the summer, both of which land on entryway floors first.
